TUCSON TANNERS

RULES AND ETIQUETTE

Our structure and dress are very informal and our rules and regulations are relatively few in number. Please be aware of some basic policies that are in effect. Our purpose is to make all our functions as enjoyable for everyone as possible.

  1. The newsletter is not to be mailed, given, or shown to anyone who is not a Tucson Tanners member (except for reciprocal mailing to other nudist groups). All names, addresses and phone numbers of Tucson Tanners members are to be regarded as confidential. Prospective members are only sent a brochure and a phone number of a Steering Committee member to call for more information on activities.
  2. Non-members are always welcome at all Tucson Tanners functions as guests. Non-members do need to be accompanied to an event by a member. Contact a Steering Committee member if someone is needed to accompany a non-member. A local (southern Arizona) guest may attend only one Tucson Tanners activity as a guest. After that, he/she must pay membership dues before attending further activities. This restriction does not apply to non-local members of other nudist groups who attend occasional Tucson Tanners events when in the area.
  3. We are a social nudist group. We are NOT a sex club. Please be aware that sexual activity during events is contrary to our philosophy. Violations of this rule will result in immediate loss of membership.
  4. Members are expected to show reasonably mature behavior at all Tucson Tanners functions. Overindulgence in alcohol and use of illegal drugs (including marijuana) at our functions will not be tolerated and may result in loss of membership priviledges.
  5. When attending events, members and guests must bring a towel to sit on. They may want to bring a gym bag or other containers (with lock, if you wish) for clothing and personal articles. Leave your valuables at home or locked in your car.
  6. All functions are intended to place a minimal financial burden on the host and the club treasury. Refreshments should be on a BYOB/Potluck basis, or paid for by donations requested in the announcement. There will be a bowl for donations to help defray the hosts' expenses at these events.
  7. Smoking at an event will be determined by the hosts or the rules that govern the event site. The smoking policy will be published in the event announcement as "smoking permitted, restricted smoking area, or smoking not permitted".
  8. When taking photographs, always ask permission of those being photographed first. No one need feel uncomfortable for refusing to be photographed. All photos taken at Tucson Tanners activities are to be used only for personal collections and are not to be exhibited to non-nudists, used for commercial purposes, nor published (even in the Tucson Tanners Newsletter) without permission of the subject(s). Tucson Tanners does keep a photograph album of club activities that will be brought to all events. Please donate copies of your photographs to the album if you can so other members may enjoy events they could not attend.

"Fun In The Sun"

A Nudist/Naturist Group Open To All

Tucson Tanners is an organization of male and female nudist/naturists dedicated to accepting and enjoying the human body in its natural, beautiful state. We also provide an atmosphere where social nudity in a NON-SEXUAL context can take place.

We believe that everyone is beautiful when nude; regardless of whether or not they conform to society's image of the "physical beauty". We believe that beauty comes in every size, shape, and color; no one need feel uncomfortable because they "don't fit the Hollywood mold". When we are nude with other like-minded individuals, we allow ourselves to be uncovered emotionally too, and find within us more beauty and spirit than we ever expected. Our experiences have shown that many of the barriers to interpersonal communication disappear with our clothes and we find within ourselves more beauty of spirit than we ever expected. We choose to interact in a non-sexual atmosphere where nudity does not have to equal a sexual encounter. Don't get us wrong, we are not prudes, but overt sexual behavior during, or in the location of the group activities, will not be tolerated.

Some of our nude activities include:

Anyone who is at least 18 years old and attends a regular club activity may join Tucson Tanners . Anyone under 18 must be in the company of his or her member parents. Be aware, however, that our PRIMARY FOCUS is toward groups of people who are frequently excluded from other nudist organizations. Membership includes a monthly newsletter of news and a listing of upcoming activities. Newsletters are ONLY mailed to members.

For more information; write Tucson Tanners; P.O. Box 84; Cortaro, AZ 85652. Include a self addressed stamped envelope. Also include your phone number, if you would like a call from a Steering Committee member.
